AmpereHour and Ampt partner to expand battery storage offerings
AmpereHour Energy has partnered with US firm Ampt to distribute and service DC power management products across India, South Asia, West Asia and Africa. The collaboration will combine Ampt's string optimisers and direct-to-battery technology with AmpereHour's battery storage systems, software and project services. It targets utility-scale solar-plus-storage, data centres, EV charging, solar repowering, green hydrogen and battery augmentation.
AmpereHour Energy will distribute and service Ampt's direct-current power management products in India, South Asia, West Asia and Africa. The tie-up pairs Ampt's solar-string optimisation devices and battery-direct technology with AmpereHour's storage systems, management software and project delivery.
In July 2026, AmpereHour opened a battery storage manufacturing and integration plant in Chakan, Pune. Planned for 5 GWh, it will assemble cabinet and containerised battery blocks that convert direct current to alternating current for utility-scale and commercial/industrial uses.
This tie-up could affect energy developers, data centre operators, EV charging providers and industrial users across the named regions by making storage-integrated projects easier to deploy and service. If costs fall or reliability improves, communities near solar and storage sites may see steadier renewable power, though outcomes depend on project execution, grid conditions and local demand. Workforce opportunities in manufacturing, integration and maintenance may grow around Pune's planned facility.
