Leak spills Apple HomeView smart-home hub specifics before event

A report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says Apple's upcoming smart-home hub will be named HomeView. The device is described as having a touchscreen and Siri AI, with limited Apple apps rather than an app store. It is expected in countertop and wall-mounted versions, using an A18 chip, and may launch around mid-November alongside new Apple TV and HomePod mini models.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his Power On newsletter, reports the device will be called HomeView. MacRumors reportedly noticed trademark filings from a shell company on Friday. The hub is said to include a small touchscreen, Siri AI, and only a limited set of Apple apps, with no third-party app store.
A countertop model with a metal speaker base is expected in Space Gray, silver, Starlight, and pink; a wall-mounted variant may come only in Space Gray and silver. Both are said to use an A18 chip. New HomePod mini and Apple TV models are slated for October 30, while HomeView may arrive in mid-November.
If Apple’s HomeView succeeds, it could shift how households coordinate lighting, security, entertainment, and climate through a single screen and voice assistant. Families already invested in Apple devices may find setup easier, while others could face compatibility barriers or feel pressure to buy into one ecosystem. A limited app selection may reduce clutter but also restrict flexibility. The staggered launch could confuse early buyers, though it may also build anticipation.
