OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16 Compared Ahead of India Debut

The OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16 are both expected to arrive in India in November 2026. OnePlus's model is tipped to have a 6.78-inch BOE X4 LTPO AMOLED screen with up to 185Hz refresh, a 200MP camera, and a 9,000mAh battery. The iQOO 16 is said to use a larger 6.85-inch Samsung M16 OLED panel, triple 50MP cameras, and an 8,400mAh battery, with both phones supporting 100W wired charging.
Both phones rely on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and can be configured with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The OnePlus 16 debuted in China on October 12, 2026, while the iQOO 16 also launched first in China. Their Chinese prices are similar, roughly Rs 86,000–87,000 after conversion.
Charging differs mainly in wireless support: both offer 100W wired, but the OnePlus adds 50W wireless versus 40W on the iQOO. iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya said at IMC 2026 in New Delhi that an India launch is coming soon, with rumors pointing to the second week of November.
For Indian buyers considering premium Android phones, this matchup could intensify competition, potentially pushing brands to offer larger batteries, faster displays, and stronger cameras at comparable prices. Gamers, photographers, and power users may see more choice, while rivals could feel pressure to match specifications or adjust pricing. The actual societal benefit may depend on confirmed retail prices, software support, and availability, since launch timing and final configurations are still uncertain.
