Ripple Prepares Swell Event and XRPL Upgrade for October

Ripple will hold its Swell conference in New York from October 27 to 29, 2026, alongside the Apex summit and UBRI Connect. Panels are expected to cover liquidity, real-world asset tokenization, bank stablecoins, spot XRP ETFs, AI payment tools, and post-quantum security. A mainnet update for the XRP Ledger is also planned for October 23, with Ripple executives set to discuss digital asset markets and technical developments.
Ripple's October calendar combines an industry gathering and a network upgrade. The New York event runs Oct. 27–29, 2026, and will share space with Apex and UBRI Connect, drawing developers, companies, and university researchers tied to the XRP Ledger. Agenda items include liquidity, real-world asset tokenization, bank-issued stablecoins, spot XRP ETF developments, AI-assisted payments, and quantum-resistant security.
Separately, the XRP Ledger mainnet is set to receive fixCleanup3_4_0 on Oct. 23, 2026. That release touches vaults, lending, AMMs, permissioned DEX features, trust lines, NFTs, MPTs, escrow, sponsorship, signing, and permission delegation. Activation depends on validator support exceeding 80%; until then, PaymentBurn delegation remains unavailable.
The October events may shape how banks, payment firms, and developers view the XRP Ledger for tokenized assets and cross-border payments. If upgrades and discussions translate into adoption, consumers could see faster or cheaper settlement options, while investors may face greater volatility around ETF and conference news. Universities and researchers could also gain clearer direction on blockchain infrastructure. These outcomes remain uncertain and depend on technical activation, regulatory clarity, and market response.
