R.Power, Wartsila and Enery push battery and solar projects ahead

R.Power hired a contractor for its 100 MW/200 MWh Studina battery project in Romania, with construction starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 and grid connection targeted for the third quarter of 2027. Wartsila will provide a 35 MW/70 MWh battery and energy management system in Aruba, with handover expected in the second quarter of 2028. Enery opened the 37 MWp Stella solar farm in the Czech Republic, using bifacial modules and trackers, with output estimated at 47.2 GWh annually.
R.Power selected a contractor for Studina, covering balance-of-plant and high-voltage connection work. The Romanian 100 MW/200 MWh site is set to start construction in late 2026 and connect in 2027, following Scornicesti. R.Power reports about 900 MW/3 GWh operating or being built in Central and Eastern Europe, plus 700 MW/2.8 GWh ready-to-build.
Wartsila will supply Aruba's 35 MW/70 MWh battery, software and maintenance, coordinating with existing wind, solar and conventional plants; handover is due in 2028. Enery's 37 MWp Stella farm in South Bohemia uses 51,636 bifacial panels and trackers, producing an estimated 47.2 GWh yearly for Benteler under a PPA.
These projects may strengthen grid flexibility and renewable integration in Romania, Aruba, and Czechia. Households could see more reliable power as storage balances wind and solar, while a manufacturer's long-term purchase may support industrial demand for renewable electricity. Local communities might gain construction and maintenance work, though land use and costs remain considerations. The benefits depend on grid connections, operation, and market conditions.
