NTPC REL opens bidding for 600 MW solar build near Dhule
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has issued an engineering, procurement and construction tender, including land, for up to 600 MW of interstate transmission system-connected ground-mounted solar capacity near its Dhule project in Maharashtra. The tender is split into two 300 MW blocks, with bids due by November 13, 2026. The selected contractor will handle design, supply, installation, a 220 kV transmission link, and three years of operation and maintenance.
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited is seeking contractors for as much as 600 MW of grid-connected solar capacity close to its Dhule site in Maharashtra. The package is divided into two equal 300 MW portions and follows a single-stage, two-envelope process, with submissions closing on 13 November 2026.
The chosen bidder would handle design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning, plus a dedicated 220 kV evacuation link and three years of operation and maintenance. It would also secure encumbrance-free land for the solar plant and NTPC REL's battery storage project. Technical eligibility includes 40 MWp of completed grid-connected solar, with one 10 MWp plant operating six months, or ten years of relevant industrial experience.
The tender could generate construction, supply-chain and maintenance work around Dhule, affecting local workers, contractors and landowners. If built, the solar capacity may add clean electricity to the interstate grid, potentially benefiting consumers and businesses in Maharashtra and beyond. Land acquisition and new 220 kV infrastructure could also change local land use and draw community attention, so outcomes may depend on how siting, compensation and construction are managed.
