Egypt's Arab Industrialization Organization plans to direct 5% of revenue to research

The head of Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization said it operates 14 factories and companies with about 12,000 employees. The organization aims to allocate 5% of revenue to scientific research, development and youth innovation support, and targets 20% export growth. It also plans six international partnerships with original equipment manufacturers next year.
The organization’s leader described a network of 14 factories and companies employing about 12,000 people. He said its strategic goals include directing 5% of revenue toward scientific research, development, and support for young innovators.
At the Egypt 2026 Forum, held October 19–24, he said six foreign partnerships with equipment makers are planned for 2027, with a 20% export growth target. Four youth and startup projects were highlighted: smart controls for agriculture and water stations, AI for medical devices and hospitals, interactive classroom tools, and smart-city technologies.
The research and innovation funding could affect young engineers, startups, factory workers, and users of new medical, agricultural, and urban technologies. If the export and partnership goals materialize, they may create skilled jobs and improve access to locally developed tools. Benefits could depend on implementation, training, and whether research becomes affordable products.
