Deloitte Cairo innovation hub plans to finish $110m investment and expand tech exports

Deloitte's Cairo innovation center aims to complete a five-year $110 million investment plan after putting $70 million into Egypt since September 2023. It plans another $40 million over the next 12 to 18 months and expects to serve clients in more than 30 countries. The center has grown to over 1,000 employees and plans to hire 400 to 500 people annually while expanding software, AI and technology services.
The Cairo center opened in September 2023 with about 27 staff and now has more than 1,000. It has invested $70 million of a planned $110 million, with $40 million expected over the next 12 to 18 months. It serves over 220 clients in more than 30 countries and runs more than 130 technology projects across eight regional areas.
Plans include hiring 400–500 people yearly and training eight groups of 30–34 trainees, with about a quarter of staff being recent graduates. The center is also considering audit and tax services and draws on a Cairo Google Cloud AI Experience facility using Gemini and Vertex AI.
The expansion could create more entry-level and specialized technology jobs for Egyptian graduates and experienced professionals, while training programs may widen access to digital skills. Higher service exports and more complex projects may strengthen Cairo’s position as a regional tech delivery base, though the benefits could depend on how widely hiring and training reach beyond existing talent pools. Clients and sectors relying on cloud, AI, and cybersecurity services may also see faster access to locally delivered support.
