Houthis Announce Missile and Drone Attacks on Saudi Sites

The Houthi military spokesman said the group launched ballistic missiles and drones over 48 hours at Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, an Aramco site in Yanbu, and Abha International Airport, claiming direct hits. Saudi officials reported casualties and flight disruption at Dammam airport, while debris from an intercepted drone near Shaybah killed two foreign residents. The coalition also reported intercepting several drones over the kingdom.
Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the Houthi campaign spanned 48 hours and named four Saudi locations: the defense ministry in Riyadh, Dammam’s King Fahd airport, an Aramco site at Yanbu, and Abha airport. He asserted that all were struck successfully, without specifying weapons per target or damage.
Saudi authorities said the Dammam incident killed one resident and hurt eight, damaged facilities and diverted flights; Reuters later put the toll at two dead, including an Indian national. Debris from an intercepted drone near Shaybah killed Filipino and Nepali residents and injured Pakistani and Indian nationals, while Aramco reportedly told Dhahran staff to leave and work remotely.
These reported attacks and interceptions could heighten fear among civilians in Saudi cities and foreign workers near energy sites, while airport disruptions may affect travelers and local business. Continued exchanges may increase pressure on Yemeni civilians already facing blockade and strikes, though casualty and strike claims remain unverified. If evacuations or attacks persist, energy operations and regional markets could face temporary uncertainty.
