Battery storage and solar projects advance in Poland, Colombia and Chile

Ener sold two battery storage projects totaling more than 30 MW in Poland to a joint venture of Claritas Investments and Sun Res Holding. Enel Colombia began commercial operation of its 256 MWdc Atlantico solar farm, completing a 985 MWdc solar complex. Promigas inaugurated the 221 MW Aurora solar and battery project in northern Chile, representing about $224 million in investment.
Ener sold two Polish battery-storage projects totaling over 30 MW to SC Holding, a Claritas Investments–Sun Res Holding venture. Warsaw-based Ener, active since 2015, targets about 1 GW of Polish renewable projects by 2030; deal value and schedules were undisclosed. Enel Colombia’s 256 MWdc Atlantico plant, with over 400,000 modules, completes a 985 MWdc complex.
Promigas inaugurated Chile’s 221 MW Aurora solar-and-battery project in Pozo Almonte, representing about $224 million. Its battery is rated near 187 MW with over five hours’ discharge. Aurora belongs to the Tarapacá Energy Hub, whose three planned solar-and-storage developments exceed $1.06 billion; other hub projects remain at various development and permitting stages.
The projects could affect local workers and nearby communities through construction jobs and grid infrastructure, while electricity users may benefit from added solar and storage capacity that supports supply outside daylight hours. In Poland, the battery portfolio may strengthen grid flexibility as renewable generation grows. In Colombia and Chile, large solar complexes could diversify power supplies and create local employment, though impacts will depend on grid connections, permitting and how benefits are shared.
