Egypt offers 84 investment plots to local firms through digital portal

Egypt's New Urban Communities Authority has listed about 84 investment opportunities for Egyptian companies in October 2026 through its online investor services portal. The plots range from 500 square meters for small and medium projects to more than 50,000 square meters for large mixed-use developments. The offerings cover more than 15 activities and are spread across new cities including Sheikh Zayed, Shorouk, Sadat, New Alamein, and New Aswan.
Egypt's New Urban Communities Authority, part of the housing ministry, released the offerings in October 2026 for Egyptian firms via an online investor portal using Egyptian pounds. The sites vary widely, from 500-square-meter parcels for smaller ventures to plots exceeding 50,000 square meters for large mixed-use schemes.
The listings span over fifteen sectors, including commercial, administrative, medical, educational, sports, entertainment, hotel, tourism, service, logistics, and mixed-use projects. They are distributed across new cities such as Sheikh Zayed, Shorouk, Sadat, New Alamein, 15 May, New Aswan, Obour, New Obour, Badr, New Minya, 6 October, and New Borg El Arab, with additional locations in Upper Egypt.
The listings may broaden access to commercial, medical, educational, and leisure services in new cities, potentially benefiting residents, workers, and smaller Egyptian firms seeking space. If projects proceed, they could create construction and service jobs and encourage more balanced growth beyond Cairo. However, outcomes may depend on financing, demand, and timely infrastructure, so benefits could vary by city and may not reach all communities equally.
